Owning, installing, or using a JOLT kit is your decision and your responsibility. This page sets out, in plain language, what we are not liable for.
You buy, install, own, and use the JOLT kit entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for deciding whether the kit is suitable for your vehicle and your situation, and for how it is installed and used.
The kit is supplied "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind beyond the express 12-month defect warranty described in our terms of sale. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of any information on this site.
JOLT is a mechanical release aid. It is not a safety system, security system, alarm, or emergency service, and it is not guaranteed to operate in any particular circumstance. Nothing about the product should be relied on as a substitute for your own judgement, situational awareness, or calling emergency services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JOLT and its suppliers are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury of any kind arising from owning, installing, or using the kit — or from being unable to use it. That includes personal injury, death, property or vehicle damage, damage caused during installation, loss of data, loss of use, lost time, lost earnings or business, and any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, even if we were told they might happen.
You are responsible for the cost of fitting the kit or having it fitted, for any modification you make to your vehicle, for keeping your vehicle roadworthy and insured, and for complying with all laws and regulations where you drive. You are also responsible for the actions of anyone else who uses the kit or your vehicle.
If a claim or loss is brought against us because of how you installed, used, or handled the kit, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses arising from that claim, to the extent the law permits.
Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability completely, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the kit is limited to the amount you paid for it. No refund, replacement, or repair beyond that amount is offered or implied.
JOLT is an independent aftermarket product. It is not manufactured, endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with Tesla, Inc. or any other vehicle manufacturer, and use of the kit may affect your vehicle's own warranty or insurance — check with them before you fit it.
Some consumer protection laws cannot be excluded by a notice like this, so parts of it may not apply to you. Where that happens, we limit liability as far as the law still allows — never beyond the price you paid for the kit.
